UK Holiday Survey: 1 In 7 Brits Choosing A Staycation Due To Climate Change
The results of our 2019 UK Holiday Survey show that UK holiday makers are increasingly choosing to shun trips abroad due to concerns about climate change.
1 in 7 people surveyed said they would take a domestic rather than international holiday because of the carbon emissions associated with airplane travel. In addition, 75% of the people interviewed stated that they were worried about the effects of climate change.
Uncertainty around Brexit also prompted 10% of holidaymakers to ‘staycation‘, with the most popular holiday duration being minibreaks of 2-3 night stays.
In other findings, a whopping 92% of Brits said they intended to have a domestic holiday during the remainder of 2019, with Generation Xer’s being the most likely age range to book a UK break.
The CabinBookers 2019 UK Holiday Survey was conducted in May 2019. 504 UK based respondents were included in the final analysis.
