Pod Hire – UK Camping Pods to Rent
Pod hire, or renting a camping pod is an excellent low-cost way to explore the British countryside. Depending on their size, they can be suitable for individuals, couples, and families. All pods are well insulated and have lighting, heating, and electrical sockets. The inside of the pods may be empty (you bring your own bedding), or fully equipped. Nowadays, the number of glamping sites offering pods with a bed, bathroom, and small kitchen is increasing.
Here’s a selection of some excellent camping pod locations from our website.
Falcon Forest Pods (North Yorkshire)
Falcon Forest Pods are sited in fantastic surroundings – next to the Falcon Inn pub with great views of the North York Moors. Both basic and fully equipped pods are available for couples and families.
Each pod has its own decking and picnic area, while the site itself is set against a backdrop of woodland. Prices average around £60 per night.
The Yorkshire coast is easily reached by car with Scarborough and Whitby being popular choices for day trips from the glamping site.
Cotswold Glamping Pods (Gloucestershire)
Situated in a stunning location, these luxury Mega Pods are based on a 1500 acre country estate in the beautiful Cotswold countryside.
All pods have an en-suite bathroom, and the ability to accommodate 4 people on a double bed and a sofa bed. Each is also fitted out with a seating area, kitchenette, and a TV. For children, there’s an on-site games room and football pitch.
All guests are free to enjoy the network of footpaths and bridleways that cross the estate.
The Secret Garden (Hertfordshire)
A very special glamping pod – the Secret Garden glampsite has a magical ‘hobbit hole’, with a kingsize bed and fairy lights!
Accomodating 2 people, the pod has an earth sheltered roof, giving the feeling of being underground. Outside, there is a wood fired hot tub, and a solar shower, while food can be cooked in the outdoor camp kitchen.
This is certainly one of the most unique and quirky off-grid pods you can hire in the UK.
Red Oaks Farm Log Pod (Cheshire)
From prices of around £45 per night, this log pod boasts scenic views of the Cheshire countryside.
Basic but comfortable, the pod has a double bed with linen and a camping stove with cutlery. The site also provides an eco-friendly WC, with shower facilities at the nearby farmhouse. In addition, there is a supply of firewood for the outdoor fire pit.
The well-rated local pub is just 5 minutes walk from the pod and serves excellent food and a variety of ales.
Greencraig Pods (Moray)
Not far from the dolphin inhabited Moray Firth, Greencraig Pods are located on a family run farm.
The pods sleep up to 4 people on a double bed and sofa bed, and also have a small kitchenette area and seating. The en-suite wet room gives an added touch of luxury with shower, toilet, and sink facilities.
If dolphin spotting is not your thing, check out the walking and cycling routes in the local area – both coastal and inland.
In summary, pod hire is a fun activity at any time of the year. There’s no need to worry about bad weather spoiling your camping trip!
